Born and raised in Manila, I’m a multi-media artist, specializing in design, audio, video production and editing. I’ve graduated from the Ateneo De Manila University with a degree in Bachelor of Fine Arts, Major in Information Design. I also had the opportunity to study in the University of San Francisco as an exchange student.
I came to Canada from the Philippines with a blank slate and a dream — to take a leap of faith and pursue journalism.
I completed a diploma in Broadcast Online Journalism at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. I’ve made a name for myself in the local Filipino diaspora in Metro Vancouver, and I was able to grow my network and tell stories that I am proud of.
My audio documentary, In the Wave, won the ‘Alexis Mazurin CBC 2025 Award’ and was played on CBC’s North by Northwest with Margaret Gallagher. I also received the ‘Michael K. Thurston High Flight Memorial Award’ for an outstanding student who moved to the Lower Mainland to pursue journalism.
I’ve done an internship with City News 1130 Radio in Vancouver where I created copy scripts and daily articles in a radio newsroom. I also did an internship at CBC – Radio Canada, where I worked as a chase producer, where I booked interviews, wrote scripts and pitched ideas in their Toronto headquarters. I worked mainly on ‘Ontario Morning with Ramraajh Sharvendiran’, and briefly on ‘Metro Morning’, ‘Fresh Air with Ismaila Alfa’ and ‘Here and Now Toronto with Farrah Merali’.
